About Rise Against Media!

Past - Rise Against Media started out as P.T/A.M, standing for Peter Thompson and Anthony McClelland, it’s two founders. It was originally simply a film making company, or rather a hobby. However with not much money and not many members the two decided a move into radio would help. The radio was born, and started off small, but it was growing steadily.
With the radio starting to gain a wider audience, Peter decided P.T/A.M was going to be his future company. Originally the company was just a hobby as mentioned, but Peter new this was the only job for him, and loving media, the perfect one. However Anthony, although enjoyed running the company, wanted to pursue his career of being a teaching assistant. Due to this Peter decided to change the company, and took suggestions. Rise Against Media was born.

Present - Rise Against Media, sounds like we hate media eh? Well nope. Our idea is simple, and one we will never change. We don’t aim to destroy media, hell no, we would be out of a job, simply just to change it. We feel a lot of the current media is controlled, and the people behind it don’t listen to what the public wants, choosing what the public should like. Our other main goal is to allow anyone a chance in the media world. For example, with our record label, we allow solo artists and bands the chance to get heard and hopefully make some money from their work. We also still plan to make productions, and we are always looking for new script writers, and will read any work we get.

Future - Rise Against Media has many ideas for the future. One of the main reasons we originally launched the company, was to make films, and boy we still plan to. Peter is often jotting out ideas and scripts for future productions. One of those is a short film he is currently writing about someone who loses his memory. The film will be about learning who he really is, falling in love again, a kind of real life film. If this goes well he plans to do a darker sequel, this time with someone discovering their past, and not liking it, because of who they were.
We aim to eventually take the radio digital, and even possibly go onto TV. We are also planning a possible toolbar, allowing people on the web to surf while listening.
