Forum Rules
Rise Against Media is a fun and also laid back company. We never want to get too serious. However for both the safety and comfort of all our staff and members, the following rules mist be followed:
(1) All users are held responsible for their own account - any incidents involving your account will be dealt with and may also lead to a banning.
(2) No user shall give out their username, password or confidential personal information that could be used against you.
(3) Users must not post content that is deemed inappropriate and illegal - this includes, sexual and pornographic posts and information, racist and threatening posts and posts containing illegal items such as illegal downloads, cracks, keygens and serials.
(4) Users must not upload content which can be classified as damaging - this relates to items which may effect and modify the users computer such as viruses, trojan horses, keyloggers and spyware.
(5) The use of shortened URL's is prohibited on the forum. Shortened URL services allows users to create a short URL for a long website address, using a site such as http://www.tiny.cc/. The problem is, these shortened URL's hide the actual URL their leading to. This means users could give a shortened URL and claim it led to a site such as YouTube, while the URL might actually lead to a completely different site. This type of misdirection is often used by spammers and scammers, with the user being directed to a dangerous malicious website. For this reason, if your giving a URL out that isn't classed as advertising, give out the full URL, so users can see exactly where it's leading to.
(6) Users must not annoy, pester or stalk any other members or members of staff - This includes contacting the user on multiple times when the user has expressed that they don’t want to talk to.
(7) Users must not use any type of foul language in any of their posts.
(8) Users must not advertise or spam on the forum - Rise Against Media operates an advertising system allowing small and large businesses to advertise on our site and radio at cheap.
(9) Users must not troll on forums - Trolling in a simplified form is posting something too cause a reaction. For example many trolls on the Internet Movie Database (IMDB), will post messages on popular film boards, with the intention of annoying its fans. Often trolls don’t even agree with the statement they have made themselves, and have only made it to cause some kind of spark.
(10) Users must not pester staff about account upgrades such as upgrades to a Mod - Applications will open when positions are available and everyone will have to enter the same way. The applications will then be picked in a fair way.
